Axel Lundberg won his final race, Ngongoro Safari, bringing us our first ever victory in Division 3 and going out with a bang after spending virtually all of his career at Tashkent Browncoats. He took some time off last season to achieve top form for his last days in the peloton, leading Rafal Figura to am 8th place in the classic Zyte GP, an ultimately winning in Tanzania, his first result in two seasons after finishing first in Conquista de Bohol for a second time.
Axel joined our team as a prospect from Handelsbanken in season 42. He trained to become the best pure climber our team has ever had, and was our main tour captain for many seasons. He achieved two podium GC spots, 3rd places in the Odyssee of the Oryx in season 47 and Monte Rosa Tour in season 48. Four seasons later, he would finish 4th in the MRT, winning the king stage.
Unfortunately for Axel, he had to share the captain role with Erazm Debski throughout nearly his whole career, plus with DH veterans like Arda, Blanc and Meijerigh for shorter periods. Therefore, his captain chances outside tours were slim, and his wins are limited to the king stages of OotO and MRT, two times Conquista de Bohol and the race yesterday

Career wins: 5
Career results: 19
NT caps: 10
After he retires, there will be a very brief period of Danishlessnes at our team. Ever since Calle Gejl rejoined us in season 37 (and possibly earlier)there has always been a Danish presence at Tashkent Browncoats. While the Danish Dynasty has not been quite as successful as the Polish Patriarchy, they did make up for a major part of results not scored by the Poles. Luckily, the funds which become available after Axel’s retirement will be spent on a new Danish prospect: Clemen Bruun. And as such, the Danish Dynasty will be preserved.
Clemen Bruun:
CL: Good
DH: Good
HL: Small
SP: None
FR: Very good
CB: None
TT: Small
TQ: None

Yes, I think that must have been the Odyssey, I remember being frustrated and impressed by Drahomir at the same time
Nice memories, I remember Axel beating Drahomir in one stage, and I didn´t understand how that happened. :D A very good competitor. Bruun looks almost like Holecko, so GL with the training. ;)
